Who was that we spotted at the Ritz?
Last Saturday in August and who shows up at the Ritz Carlton in Downtown Clayton? Sure enough, that looks like Lisa and Sharon. We spotted them just out side the main entrance around 9 p.m. and followed them in to see what was up. Besides, we'd never been inside the Ritz, so this would be a two-fer.
Lisa and Sharon sure seemed to enjoy the Ritz: plush surroundings, the grand lobby, and the carpet that's so inviting to walk on, the lush colors and textures. Man oh man, wish we could live like this.
Give us a pose there, girls. That's the way.
We grab a seat on a comfortable couch off to the side and watch. Sharon and Lisa are always fun to watch. They take plush chairs at a small round table, and shortly a waiter brings them a complementary olive and nut snack dish. Hey, what about us? Oh, yeah, didn't see you coming our way. Thanks!
Time for a quick look-around. The lobby's quite large, with a wall in the middle separating it into two large seating areas. Nice. Several people are seated in the bar in the distant area, while others are scattered about in a variety of sofas and chairs throughout several seating areas. Most men have on suits. Most women are in dresses or nice pants outfits. A stranger stops to chat with Sharon and Lisa for a few minutes, and when he leaves, another man joins them. They love talking to people.

A three man Jazz band is playing nearby, Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats. One couple's dancing. Finally--time for the girls to join in. No such thing as an empty dance floor with these two around.
After awhile, it's back to their table for a drink and some sushi. At the break, who's coming over to their table? None other than Hudson. Then they're off toward the band area to get a photo. Lisa, I didn't know you were so short.
All right, girls, off the table. Now I know you had too much to drink.
Looks like they're off to the next night spot.
